March 30, 2007 - Burger King and Wolfgang Puck Drop Eggs from Caged Hens

 

In an exciting move, two large egg users in North America have raised the bar for animal agriculture

 

Who will be next? Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck announced last week that he was cutting out eggs from caged hens, along with foie gras, veal from crated calves and pork from pigs in stalls. Click here for more on this story.

 

Earlier this week, North Americans got some welcome news: hens will be able to move a bit freer thanks to Burger King, North America's second largest fast food outlet. BK has decided to phase out eggs from caged hens along with stalls for pigs. Read more about it.
